Better Man - Robbie Williams

Send someone to love me
I need to rest in arms
Keep me safe from harm
In pouring rain

Give me endless summer
Lord I fear the cold
Feel I'm getting old
Before my time

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow through this pain
Lord I'm doing all I can
To be a better man

Go easy on my conscience
cause its not my fault
I know Ive been taught
To take the blame

Rest assured my angels
Will catch my tears
Walk me out of here
I'm in pain

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow through this pain
Lord I'm doing all I can
To be a better man

Once you've found that lover
You're homeward bound
Love is all around
Love is all around

I know some have fallen
On stony ground
But love is all around

Send someone to love me
I need to rest in arms
Keep me safe from harm
In pouring rain

Give me endless summer
Lord I fear the cold
Feel I'm getting old
Before my time

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow through this pain
Lord I'm doin' all I can
To be a better man

I am Batman

Woke up at around 3pm today, was watching the new Andy Lau movie A Battle of Wits that HongKong Keith downloaded the previous night till 4 am.

Anyway, had a quick shower, came back to my computer to update more stuff on this blog.. at about 3.42pm, HK Keith called me and asked if I was free.

I told him I was, and he told me that HK Nelson was in some sort of trouble with the police. Apparently, he went out to North Adelaide to get some spare parts for his car, and got stopped by the traffic police for botak(bald) rear types.

While this in itself isn't a major problem, the officer checked his vehicle registration (Road Tax) and found out that it had expired for more than a month!

So the car was grounded, but luckily it wasn't towed, as it would have been in Singapore. He couldn't drive it until there was a valid registration issued, and a valid registration couldn't be issued until the defective part of the vehicle was repaired. Oh.. and he'll be charged in court as well! Bloody red tape. A right pain in the ass.

At such, there was a way out of this conundrum, and that's where I come in. I had to find 'em, then drive 'em to the city's North Terrace, where the Motor Dept's office was located, get a 3-day-defective-vehicle-permit-to-drive, then drive them back to the vehicle's location.

Sounds easier that it actually is. First of all, they were stuck in North Adelaide, a place i am distinctively unfamiliar with. Mostly solved by consulting the street directory. Then I had to work my way through almost peak hour traffic. NB! I hates traffic jams.

And I had to pick up Malaysian Ashley and bf in the city at 6pm plus; they were coming back from a Melbourne trip.

But hey, what are friends for eh? So after a quick look at the maps, made my way up to the Hillcrest suburb, got Nelson and Keith in my car, shimmied down to the city; it was probably somewhat past 4pm by then.. where we promptly got stuck in traffic on the North Terrace Road. And the office closes at 5pm. Sharp.

We barely made it, dropped Nelson, drove off somewhere to park and wait for him.. and it started raining heavily. Waited about 25mins for him to settle the permit; it cost ASD$46 for the 3 day permit! God-damn!

Then had to work our way back to North Adelaide.
In. Peak. Hour. Traffic. Wah. Lan.

Couldn't do a U-turn back on North Terrace as there were too many cars, had to make a big detour AROUND the city, which took us a good half hour in peak traffic, and drive back up to where his car was grounded.

And since I was going to pick Ashely up in the city anyway, we decided to have dinner there..
so had to endure a drive back into the city, parked near Chinatown, did a bit of shopping before meeting up with Ashley and co. Nearly had cramps in my left thigh and calf after parking the car.

The criminal. Wanted dead or alive.
Reward of HongKong$60 DOA.

I am harbouring a known criminal in my car!

So why do I say I am Batman?

This is just the latest in a series of events where I have been called on to provide assistance.
Like when Malaysian Michelle Mejin was stuck in in the school lab at 11.30pm, when there was no more public transport home.
Like when I was called to help pick Ashley up from her nearby uni when she suddenly had 'ladies problem' and couldn't walk back. Also the time when it was raining so heavily she couldn't ride her bicycle back etc..

Well I must say I pre-empted and volunteered to help for some of these incidents; not that I am complaining, far from it, it feels good to be able to help. Makes me feel like I have a purpose.

Makes me feel like Batman!

That's me!

And me taking yet another emergency call!

Dreams..

Dreams..

The first one I've had in a very long time..

I can't remember most of it now..
just the last part where..
I am back in Singapore..
and even though I said I would never meet you or talk to you again..
for some reason, we were gonna meet up to talk..
yet when we did..
it was you who was ignoring me..

When I finally walked away, you didn't care.

Perhaps this is a sign..
that I no longer exist to you..

and that it's finally over..
for me..
